Path to the town hall, Chesterfield
This footpath leads from West Bars through some public gardens to steps that lead to the town hall, situated at a higher level on Rose Hill. The peristyle frontage of the town hall is well lit in the light of an early autumn afternoon.

Sun Inn, West Bars
This building dates from 1912 and is on the site of an earlier “Sun Inn” which was built in the 18th century. The Inn was used as a collection point to bring goods in and out of Chesterfield.
The Sun Inn is reputedly the most haunted pub in Chesterfield. On one evening in 1957, bottles were smashed and barrels moved around in a locked cellar. The vandalism was blamed on a ghostly coachman whose murdered body was thrown down a well in the cellar in the 18th century; there have also been reports of ghostly footsteps walking around the building http://markdb1973.hubpages.com/hub/ghostchesterfield (Haunted Places).
