Gray Street, Woodside, Sheffield
Now devoid of housing, but back in the 1970s the whole area was built-up with houses just like the one on the left with the semi-circular roof. The view over Sheffield City Centre will always have been fantastic, but in the 1970s wouldn't have included a Big Wheel or a huge Tower Block! On the right of the tree is Andover Street which is also in the same sorry condition, see ... Image

Pye Bank School (former), Andover Street, Woodside, Sheffield - 1
One of the original Sheffield Board Schools, designed by architects Innocent and Brown. The school opened in 1875 and closed in 2003, when a new school was opened nearby on (also) Andover Street. There are some superb views from the front of the building of Sheffield City Centre. I believe that the school was closed for a period during WW2, following a bomb explosion nearby which broke most of the windows and caused some minor damage. During this closure the pupils were sent to other schools in the vicinity. For additional views see ... Image Image Image Image Image Image Image
