The Milestone, the gastro-pub on the right, was originally opened in 1833 as the Ball Inn. It appears to be thriving today despite its industrial surroundings.

Cornish Place Works, Green Lane, Sheffield
One of the city's most - perhaps the most - impressive industrial buildings. On a prodigious scale and with a degree of architectural ambition, particularly the former workshops seen here, whose elevation is not unlike that of a wealthy Georgian town house. Built for James Dixon & Sons, manufacturers of Britannia metal, silver plate and cutlery, in various phases from 1822. This block dates from the 1850s. Grade II* listed.
