15-17 Bridge Street, Sheffield
A pleasing little specimen, definitely a bit Art Deco/Moderne, e.g. the tall thin windows, but with a Modernist flavour too. Perhaps it was conceived before the war but finished afterwards. Offices of solicitors, Howells (who are also next door Image]).

Cycle route sign
The sign, on Bridge Street, points to the hospital in one direction, and to Kelham Island in the other. Fortunately I was on my way to the latter, for a Geograph pre-conference social gathering.

Corporation Buildings, Snig Hill, Sheffield
By Gibbs & Flockton, 1904, and originally twice as big before the bombs fell. Flats above shops. Two pronounced gables and terracotta trim. The former are not strictly Dutch gables but still conjure up that part of the world.

Richfield House, Bridge Street, Sheffield
Decent straightforward little office building, 1950s I expect, animated by jazzy windows. Occupied by Howells solicitors (who are also next door Image]).

Police Headquarters and Magistrates' Court, Snig Hill, Sheffield
Assertively concrete, but tempered by much use of red brick. Rounded corners in ribbed concrete. By City Architect B. Warren, 1970. On the left is the complex arrangement of projecting courts (Image]).
