Sheffield: King Street in the evening
A pedestrianised street in the heart of the city, its modest market stalls all unattended and empty now that it's 8 o'clock in the evening.
On the left is part of Image, whose Co-Operative department store closed in April 2008 although the signage remains in place six years on.

Sheffield: Castle House
Situated in Angel Street, Castle House is the home of the Sheffield Co-op, whose clothing, homeware and electrical departments closed permanently on 26 April 2008. However, the food store will remain, as will peripheral business including a travel agent and the city's main post office.

This interior postbox stands in the city's main post office, which occupies one wall of a cavernous and strangely empty hall in Image, now that its 'parent' store, the Co-Op department store, is no more.
