Sheffield: Wicker
The new by-pass route has now been completed and traffic crosses the Wicker on through journeys. Previously, the Wicker itself had been a main route and was often very congested. The Wicker Arches, carrying the old railway across, can be seen in the distance.

Cobweb Bridge, Sheffield
The Cobweb Bridge forms part of the Five Weirs Walk along the River Don from Lady's Bridge, near the centre of Sheffield, eastwards to Meadowhall. The bridge is held in place by a lattice-work of suspension and tensioning cables and sits over the waters of the Don and below the railway arches of the old Victoria Station, now long gone.

Detail of Stanley House, Stanley Street, Sheffield
Quite grand Art Deco frontispiece. One could guess the date, 1930, even if it weren't carved into the top panel.

A little slice of France, with its mansard roofs, round dormer windows and angle pilaster strips. By Flockton & Gibbs, 1893, for the Sheffield and Hallamshire Bank. Grade II listed. Now shops, the old central banking hall used by a church.
