The Big Man Shop, Stocksbridge
This building is shown on the 1905 map of Stocksbridge. For some reason it is built on a 'skew' from the road, unlike all the other nearby shops and houses which are 'square on' to the road. Image

Rear of Terraced Houses, Manchester Road, Stocksbridge
These houses 'back onto' The Friendship Bowling Club ... a number of the members live in these houses and access the Club, from their backyards, via the steps which can be seen in the middle of the picture. The gardens surrounding the green are kept in really good condition by Margaret.

The Friendship , Stocksbridge
The carving over the front door says 1903 ... but this was when the facade was updated! The Inn was actually built about 1863. I mae that nearly 150 years ... how many other 'Friendships' last that long! Image Image Image
