Oaks Avenue, Garden Village Estate, Stocksbridge
The footpath in the foreground leads down from the Leisure Centre ... Hunshelf Bank is in the background. Oaks Avenue is part of a small housing estate, built in 1918, known as the Garden Village Estate. When the houses were originally built, each had a Fruit Tree planted in its garden ... donated from the nearby Oxley's Fruit Farm (now long gone). I have to say that, now, there isn't much evidence of these Fruit Trees!

Inman Pavilion, Moorland Drive, Stocksbridge
This view of the Inman Pavilion shows part of the Gate Posts and the Leisure Centre in the background. The Inman Pavilion bears a sign with the date of 1965 which would mean it is older than the Leisure Centre. It is run by The Garden Village Community Association and is available for hire by other organisations.

Gate Posts near Stocksbridge Leisure Centre
I believe that these Gate Posts were originally an entrance to the Fruit Farm owned by Thomas Oxley ... certainly the area around the Leisure Centre is formally Oxley Park.

These workshops are close to the Inman Pavilion and he Leisure Centre ... and are currently in use by a local company. As to their original use your guess is as good as mine.
