Yellow bikes promoting 'Le Grand D?part': Grenoside
The 2014 Tour de France started in Yorkshire and on day 2 finished in Sheffield. To promote the event reclaimed bikes were painted yellow and placed at various locations on the route and around the city. This one is fixed to a gate of a private house opposite the Cow and Calf pub. Image

Junction of Skew Hill Lane and Cross House Road
Crossroads at the southern edge of Grenoside - a rural enclave on the north west fringe of Sheffield. The unobtrusive sign attached to the old building is that of the Cow and Calf Public House - a gem of a hostelry situated in an old courtyard which was once a dairy.
