'Memorial Flight ' over Oughtibridge ... 16th May 2008
16th May 2008 was the 65th Anniversary of the Dambusters Raid in Germany. On this day the only surviving Lancaster Bomber made a 'Memorial Flight' over Ladybower Reservoir in Derbyshire. Also involved were two modern Tornado Jets and, from the 1940's, a Hurricane and a Spitfire. This picture shows the latter two planes circling over Oughtibridge waiting 'to be called up' for their flypast.

Steps down to Alford Avenue, Oughtibridge, Sheffield
These steps lead down to - or up from - Alford Avenue from the Footgate Close Footpath. Nobody about today, but on school days these steps are used by Parents delivering and collecting their children from the nearby Oughtibridge School.
