Pinfold in Hope, Derbyshire
Stray cattle and sheep were rounded up by the Pinder and kept in this Penfold. The owner collected them but had to pay a fine. The last rules for this Pinfold in Hope were updated as late as 1947.

The old pinfold at Hope
There were various regulations surrounding the use of the pinfold and related costs. Hope's pinfold was still in use as recently as 1967 when a total of some three hundred stray sheep were impounded through that year
