Warren Lodge, Curbar
Warren Lodge was built in 1877 under the instructions of The Earl of Rutland who at that time controlled the Longshaw Moorland Estates. Close by, there was a large and fruitful rabbit warren that needed maintenance in order to provide good rabbit shooting for the Earl and his aristocratic chums. On Boxing Day 1933, four men shot 712 rabbits in the vicinity of Warren Lodge.
