Grindleford Station
As the light fades a freight train of empty stone wagons thunders through Grindleford station, heading for the quarry at Hope.

Padley Chapel and Remains of Padley Manor
The chapel is Grade 1 listed and used to be the gate house of the c14 Manor house. There are some interesting remains including the base of the spiral staircase in the centre of the photo.

The building is used as a chapel to commemorate the martyrdom of Nicholas Garlic and Robert Ludlum, catholic priests, who were arrested at Padley Hall on 12 July 1588, and executed at St Marys Bridge, Derby on 24 July 1588.

Signal Box near Grindleford Station
