Shrewsbury Hospital, Sheffield
In 1823 the hospital was rebuilt on Norfolk Road. When first built they were considered to be amongst the finest almshouses in the country.

The Shrewsbury Hospital, Sheffield
Upon his death in 1616, it was discovered that Gilbert Talbot the seventh Earl of Shrewsbury had left instructions that almshouses should be built to accommodate some of Sheffield's poorest old people. The current Shrewsbury Hospital dates from 1823.
