Arundel Street, Sheffield
Looking south-west from the junction with Matilda Street. Low-rise industry, and largely post-war building.
On the corner is Pinder Bros. Ltd, "manufacturers of fine pewter and silverware and ... a family business since 1877". Surprising, to me at least, how many old firms have survived in the Sheffield trades.

Detail of works, Arundel Street, Sheffield
An example of the mosaic tile effect very much in vogue in the 1960s.
The works are seen here:

Eyre Lane, Sheffield
Looking south-west from near the junction with Newton Lane. The C18th and C19th industrial buildings of interest in this area are centred around the north end of Arundel Street, and while none of the buildings here need detain a student of architecture, the area retains a certain atmosphere, quite distinct from the city centre only a few minutes walk away.

72-76 Sidney Street, Sheffield
No doubt once a hive of industry, but now, "believe you me", one of the most decayed buildings in this generally down-at-heel street (
Image]).
The end wall is graced by a charming mural of blue tits pecking at a green human heart (I think).
