Truro Works
Pediment and fanlight detail. Truro Works on Matilda Street in Sheffield. The factory was built in the 1840s for Joseph Cutts, a silverware and spoon manufacturer. This part of Sheffield was home to many cutlery and silverware makers.

Truro Works, Matilda Street, Sheffield
An imposing and well-mannered, regular face to the street. Built c1840 for silver plate manufacturer Joseph Cutts, and occupied by cutlery manufacturers Atkin Brothers from around 1856 to the 1950s. A large complex curving round the corner along Mortimer Street with considerable building behind. The taller range seen here dates from c1900, the lower range c1850-80. Grade II listed. Now student accommodation, and a Hertz car rental office at the end.
