Persistence Works, Brown Street, Sheffield
Not a hoary old homily, but a building, and an uncommonly good modern one at that. It doesn't shout "look at me" as do so many. By Feilden Clegg Bradley, 1998-2001. Clad in fair-faced concrete. It was built for Yorkshire Artspace as the "UK’s first purpose-built studio complex for artists and craftspeople". It contains more than fifty studios.
