Solly Street
In the Eighteenth Century this area was cutlery workshops and accommodation on the edge of Sheffield. By the Twentieth Century they had been demolished and replaced with larger light engineering workshops. These too have been demolished and high density housing is being constructed on these 'brown-field' sites.

Former St Vincent's Presbytery, Solly Street, Sheffield
By M.E. Hadfield & Son, 1878. Lofty red brick, much of it gauged. Grade II listed.
Now Provincial House, providing serviced offices.
The road was being re-surfaced. A ratio of one man working to two watching applied.
