One of the back streets to the immediate north of the city centre, formerly heavy with industry. I believe the block to the left is university student accommodation.

New flats on Bailey Street in the final stage of construction. The flats, in the centre of the picture are another 'brown field' development in the city centre. Scaffolding can be seen at the right hand side of the building. This view is from near the top of Garden Street.

Harold Moore works, Bailey Street, Sheffield
A classic example of growth by accretion, the current firm occupying a variety of purpose-built and taken-over buildings. The nearest building was originally the Green Seedling public house (1889 mapping) but is no longer marked as such on 1920s mapping. Harold Moore now make a variety of plastic injection moulded products, a range which has developed from their original business of making ivory handles for cutlery.
