Barkers Pool House, Burgess Street, Sheffield
A 1960s office block, the facade broken up by white vertical ribs and incised concrete panels beneath the windows. The far section has an abstract relief in concrete, very much of its time (Image]). The architects were possibly Maurice Tribich & Partners. The elevated walkway links, or used to link, to the department store across the road (now John Lewis).

Peace Gardens, Sheffield
The Peace Gardens lie immediately to the south of the Town Hall. It is not known why the flag is flying at half mast, but it does indicate that this was a day of sunshine and strong winds.
