Houses on Scowerdons estate
Can't really say much more. This is the bottom end of Hackenthorpe, the opposite side of the Shirebrook Valley to Woodhouse and Beighton.

Silkstone Road, Hackenthorpe
One of the many newer roads in the area, certainly not appearing on the 1940's map.

Dyke Vale Road, Hackenthorpe
The grassed area on the left was once residential, but the housing on that side of Dyke Vale Road has been demolished, with the land being allowed to return somewhat to nature. There is still housing on the other side of the road, out of frame to the right. The bus shelter and layby was formerly the terminus of the bus route serving this area, but the service was extended to Crystal Peaks a few years ago; even the buses don't want to hang around in this desolate place.

Spa Brook Drive, Hackenthorpe
A cul de sac off Dyke Vale Road, now denuded of the housing it was built to serve. For some reason, the houses in the middle of this estate have been demolished but those around the edges remain, giving the place an air of desolation.
