Entrance Gates to Crimicar Lane Isolation Hospital
Infectious diseases such as tuberculosis were treated at this now demolished hospital, which a century ago would have been situated well away from Sheffield's main conurbation. A brass plaque attached to the central gatepost states that the hospital operated between 1901 and 1956.

Named after HMS Sheffield, a Town Class Light Cruiser built in 1936 ... two other ships have also been named HMS Sheffield, but it is the former shown on the Pub Sign.
