Charles Clifford Dental Hospital, Wellesley Road, Sheffield
This view shows the 'original' part of the Charles Clifford Dental Hospital (CCDH)
and the 'new' part which also incorporates the School of Clinical Dentistry.
The 'original' wing, on the left, is accessed from Wellesley Road, whilst the
'new' wing, on the right, can also be accessed from Tree Root Walk
The 'original' building was opened in 1953 by the Duchess of Gloucester, and was funded
and built on land donated in 1935 by, Colonel Sir Charles Clifford, Commander of the
Sheffield Territorial Artillery and the 126 Brigade Army Field Artillery. Sadly he died in 1936.
The outbreak of World War 2 delayed the construction of the building.
The 'new' wing was added in 2008, adding more Clinical Space and Office Accommodation

These two former Victorian Villa's on Claremont Crescent are
now owned by Sheffield Teaching Hospital's Trust.
