Melbourne House, Melbourne Avenue, Sheffield
The building has had several different functions in its time. Through the 1980's and into the 90's it was The Sheffield Teachers' Centre under the aegis of the local education authority. Nowadays it is an infants school attached to Sheffield Girls High School.

The Broomhill Tavern, Sheffield
This was my local when I lived in Broomhill and I spent many productive hours here watching the world go by. Glossop Road was the main route into the City from the Snake Pass and used by ambulances to get to the local Hallamshire Hospital. It wasn't unusual in the heyday of the NUM to see Arthur Scargill drive past, happy days.
