Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Glossop Road, Broomhill, Sheffield - 1
The Royal Hallamshire Hospital (RHH) - like most Hospitals - is a huge complex of buildings
at the top of the Broomhill area of Sheffield, and is visible from most parts of Sheffield.
The main building, as shown, fronts onto Glossop Road and was opened in 1978
by HRH Prince Charles. However the original Outpatient buildings, just visible
behind the trees, were opened in the 1950s and 1960s. Further buildings, extensions
and car parking have been added since then … and are still being developed.
The area was originally developed with Victorian Villas and Houses. Some still remain,
but, of these, most have mostly been purchased by the Sheffield Teaching Hospital Trust,
and are used as Office Accommodation or Clinics by various departments.

Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Sheffield
The 21-storey main building, opened in 1979 is a distinctive landmark and is the third highest building in this generally low rise city. (Does this count as a geograph as the building is in two grid squares, although the majority is in this one)
