271 Glossop Road, Sheffield
Built c1830. Grade II listed. The stretch of Glossop Road immediately west of the ring road is lined with brick villas, late Georgian in character although some are technically Victorian. This is the grandest example. This one is now an orthodontic clinic.

Lloyds Bank, Sheffield University Branch
338 Glossop Road. The branch has long gone now all students use debit cards, ATMs and get standard automated overdraft facilities delivered from call centres. No need for branch staff. This was taken during Freshers Week. Noteworthy is that the name "Glossop House" is still just visible on the stone above the front door. This building is a little older than the Harley Hotel to the right. At this time the neighbouring Harley Hotel was still to have a very expensive makeover with various grants. It was a strict condition that there was to be a hotel residents only licence. Buildings opposite were still occupied as houses. It wasn't long before diners could get a drink - and now it's just like any other pub!
