Former baths, Glossop Road, Sheffield
Edwardian Baroque in red brick and stone, the facade punctuated by big segmental pediments. By Arthur Nunweek, 1908-10. The Turkish bath apparently has survived in conversion to flats, c2000. There is also a Wetherspoon's pub, the Swim Inn (geddit?).

Glossop Road Public Baths – 1
Founded as a private undertaking in 1877, later taken over by Sheffield Corporation. The Glossop Road frontage was an early 20th century addition. Now converted to retail premises and apartments.

A superb looking building, built in 1907 as seen on high above the entrance ... above the entrance is another sign showing 1st W.Y.R.E. (Vols) ... with the letters standing for West York Royal Engineers. Still in use as an Army Volunteers training facility. Image Image Image Image
