This former traditionally octagonal church opened in 1906. After a number of these were built in the eighteenth century, the style was revived in the latter part of the nineteenth century. The interior of this non–conformist church was preserved in its conversion to offices in 1989. Photographed from Cobden View Road, the Grade II listed building sits on the corner of Springvale Road and Western Road.

Springvale Road, Crookes
At its junction with Western Road is this view of the traditionally octagonal shaped former Crookes Congregational Church, or "Crookes Congs", as it was known.
I used to traverse this hilly road twice a day in school term and I had to rush home and help get a dinner ready during dinner break.
