Mar Dyke: near Purfleet
Looking downstream, the first bridge crossing carried the now disused A1090 road into Purfleet. This road and its level crossing over the railway have been replaced by a new road and bridge that span both the local railway and the new Channel Tunnel Rail Link.

Former tramway bridge over Mar Dyke
Now a pedestrian link, this formerly connected the main, older part of the Purfleet ordnance depot on the east bank with later magazines etc. on the west bank. The high galvanized railings are recent additions, but the original low railings are still present behind them. Scaling based on the approximate camera height suggests a gauge of 18 inches for the tramway, the same as the Woolwich Arsenal system.
