Rail replacement bus, Tilbury Town station
A Sunday, work was certainly going in here extending the platforms, probably elsewhere as well. The bus is bound for Upminster, doubtless calling at intermediate stations, which are Grays, Chafford Hundred and Ockendon.

Tilbury Town railway station, Essex
Opened in 1885 as 'Tilbury Dock' by the London Tilbury & Southend Railway on the line from London Fenchurch Street to Shoeburyness via the Tilbury loop. The station was renamed 'Tilbury' in 1934.
View south west towards Low Street and Shoeburyness, also the former Tilbury Riverside station. New lifts were being erected at the time this image was taken. See Image for a view in the opposite direction taken some 5 years later.
