Thurrock Centre for Business, Grays (3)
Housed in the refurbished former post office - for more on the centre follow this http://www.yourthurrock.com/2010/11/07/thurrock-business-centre-opens/. It is gratifying to see a former post office building restored to such a high standard and put to community use rather than being turned into a drinking establishment or a bookmaker's premises. Although it is clear that structural alterations have been made to the building, it still retains that Neo-Georgian look so typical of inter-war public service architecture. This post office and adjacent sorting office was built 1929-1930 to the designs of Government architect Percy Montague Stratton.
