"Read all about it!"
As one of Britain's most successful red squirrel breeders, the British Wildlife Centre provides squirrels on loan to centres around the UK so that new colonies can be established. Twenty red squirrels recently travelled in style to the Isles of Scilly, with the help of the Royal Navy. As part of their regular training exercises the Navy flew this precious cargo from RNAS Culdrose in Cornwall over the sea to Tresco, Scilly's second largest island. Here the squirrels will enjoy a wonderful, free-ranging life in the beautiful Abbey Gardens.
