Traditional occupations carry on in this village below the North Downs. Their trade is much oriented these days to horse-riding support.

The Tillingbourne flows for 24 kms through some of Surrey's most picturesque villages. It is a tributary of the River Wey which it joins near Guildford.

Ludlow postbox
A George V "Ludlow" postbox (so named because they were manufactured by James Ludlow & Son of Birmingham) in the window of Abinger Hammer village shop, which until 2004 housed the village post office (see Image).
