The 'mini roundabout'
To the left is the narrow twisting 'back' lane to Ardingly. Alright in the days of the horse. the corner shop is now under new ownership.

Deanland Road, Balcombe
Viewed from the junction with Haywards Heath. This section of the road contains a number of smaller semi-detached cottages built in the first decade of the 20th century. In the distance the road rounds a bend and heads southwards where the houses become larger and the hedges taller.

Haywards Heath Road, Balcombe
Looking towards the junction with Mill Lane. The large house on the right is currently the Ouse Valley Practice which contains Gilletts Surgery and was once the Balcombe Stores. The cottages beyond are Old Gilletts and Teazles respectively with the former also having once been a shop. The opposite view of Image taken whilst standing on the mini roundabout at the junction with Mill Lane. The cottage to the left is Squires with the green building beyond being Gwen Cottage. The road itself links Balcombe to Haywards Heath and was the original main road through the village.
