Barn Field
The name of the field according to Balcombe's 1839 tithe map that lies to the east of Haywards Heath Road and sits on top of the slope that descends down to the Balcombe Arm of Ardingly Reservoir. Currently owned by Balcombe Estate who still call it the same name part of the field has been proposed as an area of possible development.

Barnfield Cottages, Haywards Heath Road, Balcombe
A stone set at the front of the cottages give the date 1921 under a large 'D' which denotes that these were built by the Denmans who resided at Balcombe Place to the south.
