Church of St John the Evangelist
Usually referred to simply as St Johns Church, this building is grade II* listed - see www.historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1029141. The first church on the site was built in 1843 to serve the growing community of Little London, the area originally being in the parish of St Mary Magdalene, Reigate. Aisles were added in 1867, to a design by Ford and Hesketh. These still remain, although the majority of the present building dates from 1889 when the church was substantially remodelled by the architect J L Pearson, who also added the distinctive 185 foot high steeple in 1895.

The Cutting
The point at which the Brighton Road crosses the "Red Hill" required a shallow cutting, hence the name of this stretch of road. It wasn't originally built up - these houses date from around the 1920s.
