Opened in 1990 on the site of the old cattle market which operated from 1879-1989. The road name commemorates the original 19th century owner of the market.

Bannister Way, Haywards Heath
The road connects garlands Road to Market Place and was built along with the Sainsbury's superstore on the site of the former cattle market. The market had moved here in 1883 from a smaller site next to the Station Inn, see Image, and had become one of the most important in the south of England by 1900. It continued to operate until 1989 when it closed with the road, named after the last manager of the market, and the supermarket opened in 1991.

?Caffyns? Station Garage, Market Place, Haywards Heath
Caffyns took the bold decision that their new buildings during the 1930s should feature the new style of architecture spreading to England from the Continent, with its “white concrete, ribbon windows and curved walls”. Station Garage, Haywards Heath, has been described as “a prime example of combining all the major recognisable features of the international style in a contemporary facade” http://www.caffyns.co.uk/history

Norris House, Burrell Road, Haywards Heath
Named after Norris Brothers whose Burgess Hill engineering firm moved here in the early 1960s and are chiefly remembered for designing Donald Campbell's Bluebird jet cars and boats. The engineering firm has long gone and the building is now used as offices.
