The Yews, Muster Green North, Haywards Heath
A building with a much varied career having begun as a Victorian townhouse in the 1850s before becoming the local post office until that moved to Commercial Square in 1894. It then served briefly as the local fire station until a new building was opened in South Road in 1904 after which the building returned to residential use. This remained so until the 1950s when it was purchased by East Sussex County Council and turned into a residential home for teenagers. In 1968 the building was acquired by West Sussex County Council and turned into a community centre which it remains today though ownership passed onto a new partnership in 2011 containing a mixture of local charities and councils.
