Civic Way
Originally the B2113 and built in the early 1970s to bypass Church Road the main shopping street. Superseded by Queen Elizabeth Avenue a decade later. The church is St John the Evangelist constructed between 1861-63 and a reminder that the town was built over a former common known as St Johns Common after the annual fair held there on 24 June, the feast day of St John the Evangelist.
