Cottages in Billingshurst
These cottages are by the A29 footbridge, the fence of which is in the bottom LH corner of the picture.

New Bridge Road crosses the A29
New Bridge Road was once the main route west out of Billingshurst to Petworth. The building of the Billingshurst by-pass moved the route a couple of hundred metres to the north and cut the old road leaving only a footpath connecting the severed ends over this footbridge. I wonder how many of the inhabitants of the new estates think that this is the "New Bridge" after which the road is named.
