I believe this a rebuild replacing a former farmhouse that originally lay slightly to the west of the current building. Replaced between the wars.

Old Meadow
The name of the field according to the 1840 tithe map that has been amalgamated with a number of other fields then subdivided into smaller modern paddocks. The standing oaks are the remains of former hedgerows and give some idea of the position of this former field.

The Three Acres is to the south adjacent to Image whilst the Four Acres is further to the north somewhere in the middle of the current field. To the west is Image

House Pond Field
The name of the field according to the 1840 tithe map. Much of the field pattern has gone here too though a few lonely oaks give an indication of former field boundaries. The area now largely consists of paddocks.

The Two Acre Mead/Three Acre Mead/Lower Three Acres
The name of the fields according to Cowfold's 1840 tithe map that have been merged along with Image to the west and Image to the north to form a larger unit. The Two Acre Mead is in the foreground adjacent to Stonehouse Lane, Three Acre Mead is beyond in front of the two oaks in the distance whilst Lower Three Acres is beyond adjacent to the old Cowfold-West Grinstead parish boundary.
