Church of St Saviour, Colgate
This place of worship was originally a small chapel which was incorporated into the, somewhat grander, gothic church we see today. The newer church was consecrated on 22nd November 1871. On 9th September 1940 a bomb exploded by the church gate killing three members of the Auxiliary Fire Service who were returning from extinguishing fires in the forest caused by an earlier raid of incendiary bombs.
