Railway at Horsham
This is the railway at Horsham, shot with an iPhone from the bridge near the station. The Arun Valley Line (disappearing out of shot to the right) opened in stages between London and Portsmouth from 1848 to 1863; until then the station was operated as a terminus on the London, Brighton & South Coast Railway's Sutton and Mole Valley Line from Croydon. This view shows the disused signal box (dating from 1938 and closed in 2005; it's grade II listed). The sidings are, I presume, on the site of the old Horsham motive power depot, closed in 1964.
