The Clockhouse, Blackhorse Way
Formerly the coach house to Image incorporating quarters for the grooms with Image next door. In the centre section the arches for the coaches have been bricked-up but can still be clearly seen because the infill courses are set back by the width of a brick. (If only all conversions were as thoughtful). The clock face (removed from the pediment pending restoration) was driven by a mechanism in the roof with a striking bell in the cupola. The cupola and bell were recently restored (2007) with the face to (hopefully) follow. The clock mechanism still exists in the roof but restoration and integration of the three elements may not be possible or practicable. For the full story of the restoration see the excellent Hidden Horsham website http://www.hiddenhorsham.co.uk/5/5.htm.
