Former Odeon cinema, Redhill
A cinema from 1938 to 1975, then various nightclubs, which may still be the case in this view. Shortly after it closed down, and was finally demolished for redevelopment.

Former "Liquid & Envy"
The site of the former "Liquid & Envy" nightclub. This locally listed building was built as an Odeon cinema, opening on 23 May 1938. It was designed by Andrew Mather, who was the architect for many Odeon cinemas of that period. It closed on 18 October 1975. It reopened as a nightclub in 1976, named "Busby's", later becoming "Millionaires" in the 1980s, 'The British Embassy' in 1996, before its present title in 2002. It finally closed in 2011, and in 2013 a plan was approved to demolish the building, with 61 apartments and a supermarket, retaining the façade. A subsequent proposal has since increased the number of apartments to 76. The development is to be called Phoenix Plaza. Here the body of the building is being demolished, as part of this scheme. See Image for a photo in its "Liquid and Envy" days and http://www.mawgrim.co.uk/cavalcade/redhill.jpg for a photo as an Odeon. Postscript: This planned development folded following financial difficulties, and the site has now been cleared, including the demolition of the façade in readiness for a 133 apartment block. See Image for a 2018 photo of the cleared site.

Former "Liquid & Envy" site
The site of the former "Liquid & Envy" nightclub, originally built as an Odeon cinema, opening on 23 May 1938. A subsequent proposal then increased the number of apartments to 76. The development was to be called Phoenix Plaza. However, following financial difficulties worked ceased on this scheme and the site remained derelict, with only the façade remaining, propped up with scaffolding. In 2017 a new proposal, for a purely residential block of 133 apartments, , now to be called First Point, was approved, no longer including the façade (despite its locally listed status). Here the cleared site is seen across Station Roundabout. Note the "Liquid & Envy" sign still in situ on the left of the photo. See Image for a photo in its "Liquid and Envy" days and Image with much of the building demolished and only the façade remaining. See also http://www.mawgrim.co.uk/cavalcade/redhill.jpg for a photo as an Odeon.
