Milehouse Farm
Milehouse Farm is the location of a number of small businesses off the A4. Doesn't the traffic whizz past here at a mile a minute. But to which mile does Milehouse Farm refer?

Towards the landing strip
The gate is in this square, adjacent to the A4. The landing strip itself, private for the Engelfield estate, is in SU6270. A plane can just be seen. Around is arable farmland.

The Mile House
The building behind these gates is called the Mile House and marked on the 1:25K maps as such, but it is almost exactly halfway between two mileposts.

Cottages on the A4
These two cottages, probably part of the Englefield estate, are normally never seen as you pass at 60mph. They were built in 1868 by W.J.S., with lovely Flemish Bond patterned brickwork.
