Church Street, Theale Green
What caught my eye here was the row of blue-and-red brick cottages, with polychrome trimmings. Church Street is part of the old Bath Road, and carried through traffic to Bath and Bristol until well on in the 20th century.

Former Telephone Exchange, Theale
Situated in Church Street, this TE was replaced in the early 1970s by the TE in Station Road, SU 6471 refers http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1698215. The postcode of this boarded-up TE is RG7 5BX. Update: this former TE has since been demolished.

The Lamb, Theale
Alcoholics in Theale are well catered for with several hostelries to choose from along its main street (High and Church Streets). The painted sign here probably read Simonds Beer. Simonds were the Reading brewers that became part of Courage.

To the west of the church as the road leaves the village centre to the west, it passes a nursery, the thatched Old Swan Hotel and the red-brick [new] Swan.
