Inhams Way and Dukes Ride, Silchester
Silchester was a small village for a couple of millennia after the Romans left nearby Calleva up until the late 20th century when all these new houses arrived and upped the population by a good several times. Street name is from Upper Inhams Copse, the wood at the end of the road.

Footpath towards Pamber Forest
Pamber Forest is a large wooded area, very popular with residents of Pamber Heath, Silchester and further afield. There are some public footpaths but in practice all paths are publicly accessible. There are a number of walking trails marked (the usual, red, blue, yellow routes with markers) for those who are frightened of venturing into the unknown, but those with any sense of geography won't get lost here. This is the footpath from Silchester that goes through scrubland with back gardens to the left before entering the thicker woodland about 300 metres ahead.

Bovines departing Silchester
I did not expect to encounter this herd of around twenty-five making their way across Silchester Common just metres from an up-market development on the edge of the village. I have no idea whence they came or whither they were bound. They took an age to pass me as I was not minded to challenge their right-of-way.
