Rainbow Park sounds a lot more colourful than it actually is. It's just another residential bit of Winnersh.

All change
Shops on the Reading Road in Winnersh - on the site of the former Winnersh Bakery. Winnersh was my home village from 1961. Until the other day, I hadn't been back since my parents moved away in 1987. An awful lot has changed in the last 20 years or so - in particular, many individual houses have been demolished and replaced with at least two new houses occupying the same space. (See Image). Here, the Indian restaurant on the right is the building that used to be my hairdressers. The pair of newer shops, set back, and looking to have flats above, are on the site of Winnersh Bakery. Winnersh Bakery was a large grocery store occupying the two front rooms of a detached house. The baker and his family lived upstairs. The bakery was out the back, and bread was delivered locally by cheerful men driving a small fleet of battered grey vans.

Winnersh Post Office
Located on the Reading Road, Winnersh. Winnersh was my home village from 1961. Until the other day, I hadn't been back since my parents moved away in 1987. An awful lot has changed in the last 20 years or so - in particular, many individual houses have been demolished and replaced with at least two new houses occupying the same space. (See Image). Here, the post office still occupies the building I remember from 1961, though there wasn't a PC repair shop or a Deli Choice when I last bought stamps there!
