Carved stone post by the A30, in parish of HARTLEY WINTNEY (HART District), Phoenix Green, West of Hartley Wintney, near entrance to Oak Bank, on wide well cut grass verge, in front of high garden wall, on South side of road. Hartford limestone diamond, erected by the Basingstoke, Hartfordbridge & Blackwater (and Odiham) turnpike trust in the 19th century. Peel Court, Hartley Wintney
A short residential cul de sac around an older building which used to be Hartley Wintney police station. On the far side is a stone plaque on the wall inscribed "Hampshire Constabulary." Peel Court is from Sir Robert Peel, the Victorian prime minister who founded the Metropolitan Police, or "Bobbies" as they came to be called.
